Overview
Kanu Ghosh was a celebrated music composer in the Bollywood music industry. He collaborated with many renowned Hindi film music directors like Ram Laxman, Salim Sulaiman, Anu Malik, Shiv Hari, Laxmikant Pyarelal, R. D. Burman, Jatin Lalit and M. M. Kreem. Kanu Ghosh worked as an assistant music director for movies like Do Bigha Zameen (1953), Madhumati (1958), Parakh (1960), Prem Patra (1962), Half Ticket (1962) and Annadatta (1972). Kanu Ghosh’s songs were sung by the mellifluous voices of great playback singers like Manna Dey, Geeta Dutt, Mohammed Rafi, Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle, Alka Yagnik S. P. Balasubramaniam, Chitra, Kumar Sanu and Udit Narayan. Prem Dhawan, Dev Kohli, Anand Bakshi, Javed Akhtar and Indeewar are some of the lyricists who penned the lyrics to some of his compositions.
