Overview

Anand Raj Anand was very passionate about music since childhood. He sang his own compositions at school functions and convinced the school authorities to commence musical activities in the school. He even won several local music competitions as a part of a group. In 1992, he came to Mumbai due to his love for music. He tried his luck in the industry. He used to write his own lyrics, compose his music as well as sing. His versatility wasn’t appreciated and he opted for only composing. Anand Raaj Anand got his big break when Pravin Shah of Times Music, recorded seven songs with him, out of which three were used in the film, Masoom. One of his songs, 'Chota Baccha Samajhke' became very popular, following the success of which he gave music for films like Major Saab, Qila, Pardesi Babu and Ek Hindustani. His talent and reputation as a musician grew in the music industry. His other famous movies are Sanjay Gupta's Kaante, Feroz Khan's Janasheen and the forthcoming Sarhad Paar. Despite being part of an industry swamped with remixes and techno beats, Anand has maintained his quality while at the same time, adapted to the market's changing demands.
