Overview

In 2006, the music composer duo, Anand – Milind, completed 25 years in the film industry. The pair has composed almost 225 songs. The duo Anand - Milind is one of the leaders of the Indian music industry with a collection of unforgettable hits in Bollywood cinema, due to their catchy tunes. Anand and Milind are sons of Chitragupt, a renowned music director of the 1960s. Chitragupt gave his sons a sound musical base and taught them Western classical music. Milind is a trained pianist while Anand is skilled with the guitar. In 1984, the duo made their debut in the film, Ab Aayega Mazaa. They became famous after their hit music for Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), which had notable songs such as 'Papa Kehte Hain', 'Ghazab Ka Hai Din', 'Akele Hai To Kya Gham Hai' and 'Ay Mere Humsafar'. They followed it with Baaghi, Salman Khan's debut movie. Then came big box office hits like Dil and Beta, the latter including the chart topper, 'Dhak Dhak Karne Laga'. Anand – Milind’s music saw the debut of numerous superstars like Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Salman Khan and Naghma in Baaghi and Karishma Kapoor in Prem Qaidi. The duo was successful despite the increasing competition. In the 1990s, Anand- Milind kept churning up hits with David Dhawan’s movies like Bol Radha Bol, Raja Babu, Coolie No. 1 and Hero No. 1. Their work was true to the sounds of the 90s especially in Rakshak, which had 'Shehar Ki Ladki' and 'Sundara Sundara'.
